DESCRIPTION:Campfirmation – Part 2\n  \nApril 4-5\, 2025\nClosing Retreat in person at FLBC\nPublic Christianity\nThis is the final session for CAMPfirmation 2024-2025. This on-site retreat will celebrate the growth of the participants through the program and connect the faith they have learned to their daily lives. We will return to the Lord’s Prayer\, the Apostle’s Creed\, and the Ten Commandments and reflect on them in a new light with the greater context they have earned over the last several months. Campers will be asked to choose a problem they see in the world and reflect on it through the lens of their faith to practice engaging the world theologically. \n  \nYou must have registered for CAMPfirmation prior to October 15\, 2024 in order to attend this retreat. \nDownload the flyer here for additional information and for your records. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Caring for Creation:\n Finding Our Way with Honesty\, Humility\, Curiosity and Compassion.\n\nJoin Us This Spring!\nAs Christians we are called to be stewards of God’s creation. Join us to learn how we can be better caretakers of all that God has entrusted to our care. Come learn and grow from others on how your congregation and you can care for God’s great earth that has been entrusted to our care. Besides great sessions with Pastor John Lund\, you will have time to enjoy walking the woods\,  the lake\, yoga \, sauna and great food. \n\nSession 1: Where we went wrong;  calling out the myths of exclusion\, superiority\, and dominion;  Understanding the power of Western domination\, the assumptions of superiority\, and the implications of Christian exceptionalism and colonization.\nSession 2: Who is our neighbor?  Looking at the story of deep time and space that we are part of and understanding the complexities of evolution\, ecology and kinship on our planet.\nSession 3: Jesus’ radical vision of Beloved Community: Imagining and living into the sacredness\, dignity and blessedness of every person and all of life around us.\n\nJoin us on Sunday night to hear our Keynote Speaker Heather White and enjoy a wonderful FLBC dinner. Spaces available for only the Sunday night dinner/speaker or you can also stay over night. Please make sure to register for either of those options.
