She is also an ordained Lutheran pastor in the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). Her academic interests include the Psalms\, biblical emotions\, preaching\, ethnography and embodiment. The first part of her ministry was spent serving small town and rural churches in Minnesota. Her husband\, Tim\, is a Lutheran pastor in Dublin\, OH\, where they live with their two children and two cats.   \n  \nScholarships are available! DESCRIPTION:Combine the healing element of nature with activities that provide an outlet for the expression of your grief. This retreat is for any adult (18+) who has lost a loved one such as a partner\, friend\, parent\, or child. \nIn addition to helpful sessions\, fellowship\, and worship\, there will be time for\, crafts\, yoga\, massages\, hiking\, canoeing\, sitting around the campfire\, eating a few s’mores\, and much more! \nABOUT THE LEADERS: \n\nKaren Skonord\, FNP will be focusing on the health aspects of grief. Karen was born and raised in Montana\, and began her nursing career in Chester\, MT. After moving to Kalispell\, she worked as Family Nurse Practitioner for 18 years followed by mental health work for 20 years. Now retired\, she spends her time with family\, and enjoys growing flowers\, baking\, bike riding\, reading and volunteering.\nJo Ann Graves-Gill is a grief therapist who will speak on grief and its effects. She will also be available to speak with people individually throughout the retreat.\nPastor Keith Weatherford will serve as our chaplain for the Grief Retreat. Pr Keith graduated from the Master of Divinity program at United Lutheran Seminary. Prior to his first call as an ordained pastor at St Johns\, in Helena\, he served 30 years in academia. We will be seeking God’s love for us through scavenger hunts and hikes\, exploring our creative side through sustainable projects\, and asking faith filled questions during bible study and worship times. We will provide a guided couples relationship workshop using John Gottman’s “Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” curriculum as well as time for spiritual renewal and faith formation. Take this weekend to focus on the deeply important aspects of all our lives\, our romantic relationship and our faith life health. \nThis weekend is ideal for couples who desire to strengthen their relationship and experience deeper joy together\, and for those who want to take intentional time to renew and grow their faith as an individual and as a couple. DESCRIPTION:Youth groups\, Jr & Sr High individual campers\, adults\, & families – let FLBC be your basecamp for a winter adventure! \n\nCome for an awesome weekend filled with good food\, fellowship\, snow games\, worship and FUN! Spend your days skiing or snowboarding at Whitefish Mountain Resort or Blacktail Mountain Resort. Downhill snow sports not your forte? Some of the best cross-country ski trails in the Flathead Valley are a few miles from camp\, or spend the day at camp relaxing\, studying and enjoying the view of Flathead Lake. Post skiing activities include hot chocolate by the fire\, group games\, time to relax with new friends\, Bible Study and worship. \n\nRetreat begins with dinner at 6:15pm on Friday (check-in is from 5–6pm! Sack lunches are  provided for Saturday\, Sunday\, and Monday. \n\n\n\n\n$150/person Fri-Sunday – OR – $175/person Friday – Monday  \n(does not include lift tickets or rentals) \nFor youth groups coming together: 1 free adult for every 5 youth.
